Plant ID please?

Hi all,

I recently received some plants without any identification (bought as a collection) and wondered if anyone can help ID this one please...?

(its the lighter plant without a cyano coating with the two stalk-like things protruding upwards)

Hi all,
It is probably Sagittaria subulata. The two round structures are flowers emerging from a <"branched flower scape">.

A lot of plants are commercially produced emersed, and growing in the air, rather than water, encourages them to flower.

Cheers Darrel, I'll have to see how it grows out cause the leaves look different at the moment - less grass like and more rounded.

Should I cut the flowers off - I guess they'll just die anyway?

Probably because it has been grown emersed, as it produces new submerged leaves they will be thinner.

If they make it to the waters surface they will open (white and 3 petalled), otherwise yes remove them.

That's great, makes sense - cheers Darrel. I'll chop the things off then cause they've no chance of getting the waters surface in this lo-tech tank!

Here's a full tank shot (battling some algae and complete noob so excuse the 'scape)... Would like to move that powerhead as well but its in the best position for circulation I think...
