Just discovered this webpage full of really cool images of the Rio Xingú river in Brazil, in case it could be inspiration to any of you or just an interesting read!
Really cool article, I love seeing the fish we keep in their natural habitats. I'd love to go and visit somewhere and see it my self one day, alas it will probably never happen but it's nice to dream!Just discovered this webpage full of really cool images of the Rio Xingú river in Brazil, in case it could be inspiration to any of you or just an interesting read!

There's a store in Germany, called Panta Rhei. They are experts in keeping fish in biotope-correct circumstances. There's fish tanks in which they mimic rainfall and they focus on different kinds of food, mimicking rain and dry season.thank you for this thread of inspiration!
so many great pics of the mesmerizing Rio Xingú biotope 😉
I only wonder if any aquarist dares to replicate this so complicated river ecosystem in a home aquarium. River rapids are one of the hardest biotopes to replicate.
And I think this post is obligatory for aquascapers who buy fishes from this river and put in completely different conditions making poor animals suffer.
