Hi,
I've always wondered how the ageing of bulbs affected their performance, brightness and in turn our plants.
I have read that they should be replaced every 6 months or so, but this seems extreme.
What do others feel?
Thanks
Gavin
Hi,
There are only two valid reasons to replace your bulbs:
1. The bulb doesn't illuminate when you flip the switch.
2. You don't like the color of the bulb.
Good man! Cheers Clive, thats what I wanted to hear.
I have my daughters 2ft which we got given a year or so back. It's bulb is very low light and I suspect it has never ever been replaced. Do bulbs last 10 years!???
I'd like to try something just a tad brighter. Scary as there's no CO2, but if I do should I shave the 13hour potoperiod to 6 or so for a while and gradually bring it back up to 8 or so?
Cheers
Gavin
I have been using mine for 4 years now without replacing them, there are the ones in my Rio 125 Journal. So don't see any point in replacing them to be honest.
