Hello,

I would like to know which plants can be grown without a carbon source (CO2 or Liquid Carbon).

I know of these:
1. Anubias
2. Crypts
3. Ferns

Whats else in your experience can be added to that list?

Thanks

You are right all the above, Crypts will reward you several fold if they're planted in a nutrient rich substrate.

I think we discovered a while back that Anubias (at least some species) can synthesise carbon from bicarbonate http://www.ukaps.org/forum/threads/white-fungus-like-dots-on-anubias-making-my-fish-sick.37756/ Post 8

A variety of mosses and I think Bucephalandra do well, and Vallis does exceptionally well as it too can synthesise carbon from bicarbonate.

Basically, most plants on Tropica's easy plant list and some others besides. It's all a bit trial and error since all our tanks are different; if there's a plant you fancy give it a go you maybe surprised. For me a nutrient rich substrate is the key.

These have also worked well for me
Aponogeton natans/crispus
Bolbitis heudelotii
Ceratopteris
spp.
Echinodorus spp. inc tenellus
Egeria densa
Hygrophilia
spp.
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis/novae-zelandiae
Ludwigia repens/natans
Pistia stratiotes
Salvinia auriculata
Sagittaria
spp.
