Hi all,
My fishless cycle completed pretty quickly and ammonia and nitrite zero so I thought it was time to add some fish.
The day before adding the fish I did a 80% water change a final test of the water. Nitrate which had been high prior to the water change was now zero.
I have since added 15 juvenile espei rasbora and 8 black phantom tetra. I have just tested again this morning, ammonia is zero, nitrite is zero and still, nitrate is zero.
Is this just that the plants in the tank are using up what nitrate is currently produced now that they are settled?
Do I have anything to be concerned over or is this a good balance to have?
