20 gallon lo tech planted. Fish are 3 guppies, and 7 platys, and 2 corycats. Now there are 3 tiny babies which might be guppies. I don’t have another tank. They’ve survived about 3 days so far hiding. What can I do? I try to drop flake food that’s real small over their hiding place while feeding bigger stuff to the others on the far side.

Is your tank heavily planted? This will help them a lot with cover and increasing their chances of survival. Sounds like you have the right idea in regards to feeding. I know you can buy those little breeder box things that you attach to your tank to keep them separate from the adults, never used them though. Would a small plastic container with an air pump and some floating plants do the job?

Hi and thanks for the advice. They are surviving. I wouldn’t say heavily planted yet. But they did find hiding place among the Anubis and driftwood. They are beginning to venture out a little more now.

Livebearers live short and fast lives so the majority of fry are predated but the few survivors seem to an instinct for survival, you often find then hiding behind hardscape in plants and in your aquarium l would say your guppy youngsters might have a good chance ,let us know how they do
