Pomacea canaliculata do eat plants. They have pink eggs. I keep Pomacea diffusa and feed them well, they don't eat crypts and anubias, which I grow. They tend to only eat plant matter that is dying or rotting. There are many different types of apple snails or mystery snails. Go to applesnail.net identify yours, and then you will know if you have plant eaters.

I kept various color apple snails many years ago and didnt experience problems with them eating plants.
I tried getting some about a year ago, diffusa type with pale eggs, and they went to town on my plants 🤷‍♀️
