Mounting trident fern - drill wood

Hi,

I'm wanting to mount some trident fern forward facing however the wood doesn't have any cracks to mount the fern and if I mount on both sides of the wood the centre would be bare

Would.i be ok drilling the hollow wood and then put the fern in the hole or does the rhizome need light

Hi, I think it needs goof flow around, many have to remove excess of leaves to improve the flow around the rhizome. Unless someone already tried this I think it's risky.

Can you staple <"the rhizoids"> (the wooly brown bits below) to the wood? Don't staple the rhizome itself.

<"I used to do this"> and by the time the <"staples have rusted away"> the fern <"will have attached">.

The wood is front facing and I was the trident to point outward ls if I glue it it will either point upwards or downwards and not out towards front of tank if u get me

You'll probably find that it will proliferate and grow towards the light however which way you attach or point it.
