Hi guys, I'm planning on re-doing my substrate for one of my 30L tank which had EBI Gold shrimp soil. Since im not keeping CRS anymore I plan to make a better substrate for the low tech tank.

Here is my thinking, I am planning on using Osmocote with moss peat (sphagnum moss) capped with Tesco low dust light weight cat litter. Before buying the moss peat I just want to make sure if this particular one will work: Other Growing Media | William Sinclair | Gardening advice, tips, J Arthur Bower, New Horizons, plant foods, fertilisers, soil products Its the one at the bottom of the page.

Thanks,

Michael.

I think I'm going to give it a shot as the packages mentions no ferts being used and its 100% Sphagnum moss peat. I plan to go back to keeping a betta in my 30L now but won't be adding him until a few weeks into this test.
