I have some staurogyne growing in a tray for a few weeks. No issues so far until I sprinkled some fertilizer yesterday and some of them melted.

Looks like those melted ones had fertilizer granulars on their leaves.

Bad luck? Or because of the ferts.

Hi all,
Ok, I was hoping they will grow better since I had some leftover fert for household plants.
No that's fine as fertiliser, I use what ever is "for sale" at the end of the summer. Have a look here: <"Off the shelf ferts..">.

You just need to make sure the fertiliser isn't in contact with the plant as a dry salt. If it will dissolve? "in solution" is much safer.

cheers Darrel
