Melting Alternanthera reineckii 'Mini'

Hi,

Bought this a week ago and now I see melting all over.



Is it still transiting to submersed form?

I'm dosing EI with the drop checker being yellow when the lights are on. Single 24W T5HO for 6 hours a day for a 60x30x30cm tank.

I'm sure ceg will say it's co2 and distribution. 🙂

I have been dosing 5mls of excel too every few days.

What else can I do? Increase my bps? Aim my outflow directly at it?

Cut away all melting bits and replant the tops otherwise it can spread up the entire plant. It could be just adjusting to new CO2 levels, especially if it was grown emersed previously.

Hmmm, this was from the 1-2 grow series from Tropica. But I'm not in UK, thus not too sure about the quality of the pot when it is being sold in my LFS.

Dosing Excel only every few days is the same as not dosing Excel at all.

So I trimmed away all the melted parts and left with this:



Should I increase my bps further?

Only 2 stems survived after I relocated them to a more open area.

They will turn into something spectacular if your CO2, nutrient and flow distribution are consistently excellent. It then will not matter that only 2 survived.
