Hi guys,

Just started to recently get some very small amounts of this algae appear.
Would you say it's staghorn algae and what's the easiest way to get rid??

Many thanks

Yep that's staghorn. Only ever shows up in my tank in areas that are dirty and have poor flow.

Hydrogen Peroxide or Excel spot dosage will kill it but the avoid it you need that tank to have good water circulation and low organic waste

Thanks for the reply, I think my organic waste is pretty low but maybe I need to look at the flow, I have a fluval flex 34 and the flow is quite strong so I've had the outlets pointing backwards rather than across the tank.

I had staghorn algae in my tank after I re-escaped it. I had put a new substrate in, so I’m guessing things were out of balance a bit and also increased detritus. I found Keeping on top of water changes, meant that it gradually disappeared. For me it wasn’t stubborn like BBA.I run a co2 tank.
