Is this moss in trouble?

I believe this is Christmas moss, and I've used a hair net to attach it to a piece of slate. It's got to the point now where I am concerned about the apparent brown strands in it. Are these a problem? Is there a risk of algae building up between the slate and the moss?
Also, would something like a bristlenose plec damage this moss?

I cant really tell what this is, but it looks like java moss to me?

Hm it may well be, although it was sold to me as Christmas moss. I guess it's hard to tell because it hasn't grown through the hair net yet. Is it a problem that some of the strands have gone brown though? Should they be removed?
