Called in supermarket on way home yesterday it was announced on news (UK)inflation is at 11%.So can't these big 4 supermarkets explain why a lot of their range, esp. food are 100%dearer ? Was never much good at maths and l know small retailers are having it tough but the big four are expected to still make big profits

11% Don't think so that's across the board...more like 15%.
My shopping cost has went up by 25% in the last year.....certain items have increased by 35% to 50%.
Low income households that don't get help are gonna really struggle!

Be really interesting or worse to see what the projected profits are for the big 4. Some nationwide retail giants (one owned by the richest man in the country) are also taking the mic

Average food price increase August 21 to August 22.

Food ItemYear-over-year Price Change
Breakfast cereal16.4%
Butter24.6%
Coffee17.6%
Eggs39.8%
Fruits and vegetables9.4%
Meats, poultry and fish8.8%
Milk17%
Potatoes15.2%

Be really interesting or worse to see what the projected profits are

Tesco expect full year retail adjusted operating profit of between £2.4bn and £2.5bn.

Edit:
Blackworms (Lumbriculus variegatus). 2 90ml bags in January 22 delivered £4.85, 2 90ml bags today £7.85.
