Hygrophila Lacustris origin

Hi all,
Can anybody positively confirm the origin of Hygrophila Lacustris? Thailand is quoted as well as Florida! So, I am somewhat confused...

Vegetation of Brazil, and usually grows from southern Mexico to Argentina.
