How to get nurii rosen to grow in blackwater

That is so kind, but I have that particular one. It makes sense you got it from another hobbyist, and even then it's not too common. Mine started as TC and yeah, pretty slow growing even compared to other crypts IME. It was one of three crypt species in a nano tank I just took down, and a single original plant had made about a dozen runners in four years, which is way fewer than I got from the other two. It's very pretty though and the leaves are so distinct you can easily pick them out in a sea of other crypts. Definitely worth having, glad you were able to track it down.
Well.... if you have 13 of them and lived next door you should have walked one over to me 😉 then i could have given you the nurii's 😉

This is a brief update:

Everything is showing signs of life 'cept the plants in the front left corner. I had replaced the c. Ferruginea Sekadauensis with some that looked healthy but it didn't seem to take either. There is one little bit under the magnifying glass showing some activity so maybe it will come back. I was shocked the c. green greco didn't take. The c. yujii i'm not sure about - the c. affinis is definitely growing as well as the c. undulatus red and the c. willisii - i have to double check the c. yujii but i think we can see it is growing in the full tank picture - just that it changed colour to be more green.

You can see the c. purpurea in the middle on the driftwood - it has been there for 3 weeks - i haven't noticed any growth or melting. Guess it needs another 60 or 90 days.

I added behind the c. ferruginea sekadauensis a red diamond Echinodorus (tissue) and it immediately started growing. If nothing in that left corner grows rather than add another crypt I think i'm going to put in some s. repens which is growing really well in my other blackwater aquariums and is a fairly pleasing plant.

Next update likely in 2025 after all this is a low tech aquairum not one of those high tech aquarium that grows over night.
