How Long?...

I currently have my lights on for 8 hours a day is this enough? everything seems to b doing well after 4 weeks even have a few runners out on my dwarf chain swords

Plenty. When I set up I start at 4 hours for the first month, then up it by an hour for the next 4 months or so, I never go more than 8hours lighting. Patience is the key when tweaking light/co2.

If your plant are growing & you dont have algae issues then you must be getting it right :)
I use a 15w light as a dawn light source for 1 hour then 6 hours of main lighting then 1 hour of the 15w for sunset - so basically 6 hours of growing light but 8 hours of light in total .

Hi

I'm the same above - one bank of lights on @ 16:00, second bank on @ 17:00 and they go off @ 21:00 leaving on bank still on and they go off @ 22:00.
