Hi UKAPS,

I am having difficulty with my understanding of this plant. I read up on plants before buying so i know what the chances of survival in my tank and i like the look of this plant so have read contradicting things regarding the success of growing this.

I have read that it is an easy plant to grow and does not require co2 to be successful

I'd like to know your opinions on how this grows from experience and whether or not you have had to use co2 to get this plant to grow or not.

Currently, i am using liquid carbon. though i do plan on eventually getting co2. unfortunately being a student and loving this hobby means obtaining goods like pressurised co2 is slow going :p

Thanks guys!

Appreciate your comments.

Laurie

Thank you. I have a new LED lighting system that gives good light. It's the co2 factor that's bothering me.

Not hc, I believe there is another plant similar to that hc called hemianthus micranthemoid. Or am I mistaken?
Cause I've read up loads on hc :)

Hi
I've grown this in a standard 60cm tank, using easycarbo & under T8 lights (because not only am I dinosaur;I'm tight).
Admittedly it was a bit tall and straggly, but it did grow.
Nothing ventured etc etc

Sometimes it takes a while to establish, but regular pruning helps to fill it out, re- plant the off cuts to help. Mine have preferred higher light levels, but balanced with co2. I have grown it many years ago in liquid carbon. Light levels to suit the available carbon of course.
