I was trying to get some amanos from maidenhead aquatics, but lately the near transparent shrimp turned a bit chocolate, does this look amano to anyone or is this a wild cherry? Will this ruin my nice red cherries?

If you bought it as an Amano it likely is.. Regarding the diet amanos can vary a bit in color, could be the type of algae or maybe moss you have in the tank.
I once bought a batch of amanos and a few blueish colored. Looked it up and it seems eating a kind of cladophora makes them turn blue.. No idea why not all where blue because all where from the same tank.. In my tank they all turned normal again, tho in the low tech they are darker than they are in the high tech. :)

If they turn ember color (redish) you might be in trouble, thats a poissoning symptom.. :)
