Help Needed for Water Report

Thanks @MichaelJ , definetly going to do 70% over 60% . Luckily I already have a TDS meter and will now make good use of it. Also have a 25L container of RO water ready and will be doing my first wc on Thursday. Planning on doing 2 a week and eventually once a week.
Sounds good.

Oh yes! Have been looking forward to getting some tangerine tigers :)
Nice!

Noted and ordered, mrs can keep all her epsom salt haha
:)

i do have c02 being injected through a nano kit does that make it high tech?
Yes it does. What plants are you keeping, if I may ask?

Cheers,
Michael

I currently have:
Weeping moss,
Helanthium tenellum 'Green',
Staurogyne Repens,

Anubias 'Mini Coin',
Anubias barteri nana,
Riccia Fluitans,
Fissidens Fontanus,
Bucephelandra biblis pink green, dark blue, super blue and centipede.
Alternanthera Rosaefolia
Singapore BR Rotala

I also already have alot of this epsom salt assuming it will be ok to use? https://amzn.eu/d/9eDP4Gm

Nice plant list! While none of you plants strictly need CO2, the mosses, crystalwort, Alternanthera and Rotala will certainly benefit from it. Also, what are you doing for fertilizer?

It says its 100% pure without any colorants or fragrance... Seems safe, but I can't vouch for it as I don't know the product. Make sure its completely odorless and white.

Cheers,
Michael

Thanks :) they look super cool all together, need to get some pictures up. For fertilizer i dose Tropica specialised 1pump only at water changes. Is that too much or too little? I have lights on for 7hours a day its a chihiros wrgb2 slim only running at 20%. My hanging kit arrives in a few days so i can have it higher up.

It is but to be safe I will use the one you mentioned should arrive soon, joys of using amazon :)

Tropica Specialized is an excellent all-in-one solution (I use it exclusively in one of my own tanks). For a 30L tank one pump (2 ml/wk) will give you a smidge under 1 ppm of Nitrogen... This should be fine, as you will get some additional N and other minerals from the 30% tap you mix in, but given that your water alkalinity will still be fairly high even with 70% RO, you can eventually up the dose to 4 ml after WC if you start to see deficiency symptoms - add a few floating plants such as Frogbit - they will help you assess if your water column is running low on nutrients. If things are looking good right now, I wouldn't sweat it and just keep on doing what you're doing.

Sounds good. I have used the one I recommended for years now. The bag will last an eternity.

Cheers,
Michael

Totally forgot to mention I have salvinia n and red root also. I cant thank you enough you (and all that have posted to this thread) have literally given me a how to for dummies for my tank. Hopefully I can give back also.

Quite a few of us, including myself have noticed that amano shrimp will crawl out of tanks, and I often felt that was an EC/TDS related issue.
Not to be argumentative here but I have yet to correlate this to EC/TDS. My amanos are at 260-280 TDS and none have crawl out. There are 15 specimens in a 65L tank. I think this escaping thing is multifactorial. Obviously if tank conditions are bad this can be a reason but IME several conditions need to be met for them to start doing that in a balanced tank. I talked about this a year ago in some other post.

Right. If they are well adapted to your conditions and the conditions are kept stable it’s hard to see a reason why they would try and escape. I don’t doubt a massive swing in TDS could be a trigger point. Also Amano’s are also somewhat more high-TDS tolerant than most other shrimps. And the point’s mentioned in your post about population density/ gender mix can be a trigger as well.

Michael
