Hi all!
My name is Szilard. I used to have aquariums 20 odd years ago, but then life took over. Now getting close to 50, I found my way back to this beautiful hobby. I currently have a 60L and a 15L fiah tank, which really help me to unwind after a hard day. I'd love to get some more and bigger tanks, but I'm afraid that has to wait. Either way, I am very happy to have found this forum, and I am sure I will learn a lot here.

anything dramatically changed that springs to mind?

It is interesting and exciting to see how much things have changed. Back in the days in Hungary we had Vallisneria, hornwort, duckweed and the odd exotic plant like anubias occasionally - now there is Green Aqua. 🙂 It was also a challenge to deliver sufficient lighting and water filtration to your tank. I moved to the UK in 2008 and was busy building my future so I can't say what it used to be like, but I am pretty sure things have gotten much easier here too and a wider variety of plants/livestock is constantly available nowadays. The hobby became more accessible to people from all around the world.
