Glosso Carpeting *advices please*

Hello there.
Ive had glosso once and got them to form a carpet.
But after a few trims over it they started to go crazy and choke itself.
The to layer started to block out light to the bottom layer with was then brown..
Did I trim them too much? Or did I start out wrong.
Any advices from glosso experts or experienced glosso'ers would be awesome.

PS: Does HC choke itself like glosso? Is it anything like glosso?
