I have a juwel rekord 60 and am wondering whether I could add a 2nd filter to boost up the flow for my plants. I have an elite mini filter somewhere that I could just fill with filter wool and run as a basic powerhead if anyone thinks that could work? If not does anyone know of a better filter suggestion, I don't really want to go to the effort of ripping out the installed juwel box. I have dwarf puffers in this tank so don't realy want to go too OTT with the flow, would adding more circulation help stop hair algae?

Hi,
The more flow the better. Hair algae is caused by either too much light or not enough CO2. Therefore there are a variety of ways to attack the problem. You can lower the light, add more flow, add more CO2, add more Liquid Carbon or any combination thereof.

Cheers,

Cheers, I've fitted the hagen elite mini to the tank as well giving me about 460lph in my 50 litre tank, dwarf puffers don't seem to mind at the moment. i filled it with filter wool to act as an extra bit of filtration.
