Hi,

I have been using Tropica specialised fertiliser in my tanks, but soon I’ll be needing to change to something less cost-effective. I looked in to IFC calculator but just couldn’t figure it out how to mix my own fertiliser. So I’m thinking to get this instead:

Aqua Design PLANT+ Plant Fertiliser 5000ml

Hopefully someone can let me know if this is a good choice for all in one fertilise or if someone can help with IFC calculator. Or any other suggestions.
Thanks!

Much depends on size of tank, is it worth the effort and availability of the salts needed to get to the regime you wish to use. Post size of tank for starters would be a start and regime and will post a screenshot of what salts you will need/choices - happy to help

Important note - I am no expert !!
I have just got a couple of litres of this as a short term option (I think I will be moving to mixing my own soon). On paper it looks decent and pretty reasonably priced if you are set on a ready-mixed product and are unsure of the exact needs and ratios of chemicals needed for your specific tank (like me). I will add that it seems quite a dilute solution compared to more expensive products (no surprise there). I am using it in a 500 litre tank and I worked out the volume needed just to increase Nitrates by 10 ppm and it was a bit ridiculous, so I don't think it will be lasting that long for me. Ultimately, for anyone with larger scale needs I think any ready-made solution is going to be cost-prohibitive in the long term. However, for those with smaller tanks and without the desire to mix their own, it seems a reasonable low-cost option.

Edit - I literally have just opened it so I can't report on it as yet.

Thanks for that, I have two 270l tanks one is high tech and one is not at the moment. Soon I’ll be adding co2 in second one so I will need to start mixing my own. I just can’t figure it out how, long time ago I used to mix it with
Instructions that come with the all in one package.
