Hi all,

I have question regarding this product of Chelated Iron Microgranules. I can't really find any information about what percentage that chelator is ?
Following by this link from John q :

https://www.amazon.co.uk/R-SHOP-FC-...9528cad02c9e3f6d9aad92a4c020241c&gad_source=1

I decided to order small amount of Iron EDDHA.

Because i couldn't find any information about if this 6 or 7% i just simply followed by calculatior from roatalabutterfly.com.
For 125 tank i made a solution EDDHA 6%(as it was only this one to chose) and then i've choosen to add 10ml of solution. I've choosen calculate for EiLowLight/Weekly:

To reach your target of 0.1ppm Fe you will need to add 5.21 grams (equivalent to 2 tsp + 1/8 tsp + 1/64 tsp ) of EDDHA Fe (6%) to your 250mL dosing container. Add 10mL of that mix to your 125L aquarium to yield:
Fe0.1
[th]
Element
[/th][th]
ppm/degree
[/th]
But i still have no idea if it is EDDHA 6%

I am thinking now from what safe amount i could start dosing this solution???

I have dosed Fe EDDHA and it can make the tank quite red, so I ending up dosing like @ElleDee suggested - just so you get the slightest pink - then the Fe EDDHA is still in abundance-job done. As the slight pink fades add a little more

Hi all,
I am not the first person to figure out you can dose it by adding small amounts until you see the water begin to take on a pink tint.

Thank you Guys for your help and suggestions.

Accordingly my calculated solution is 10ml= 0.1mg/l. I'd added 1ml for a try and this suppose to give me Fe 0.01mg/l , before i posted this post.

On Monday I will be doing water change so then I add it more just to get the slightest pink.

Thank you,

Kind Regards,

Peter

Hi all,
But i still have no idea if it is EDDHA 6%
I'd guess that "6%" and "7%" EDDHA are really the same compound. I should have put the reason that in, this is for FeDTPA, but exactly the same applies - <"Calculating with DTPA Fe 8%">

Even if they are different? It doesn't make any practical difference.

Thank you for your expertise. Now everything is much more clear so I can start practice with fertilizing. Tomorrow I will be doing water change and after that i will try this solution with TNC Complete and Lite as well.

I should have said I'd just use the <"pink tint"> method as well.
