EHEIM Professionel 4+ 250T How do I restart

Hi,

I have a EHEIM Professionel 4+ 250T that has not been used for quite some time.

could someone please advise me on how I can restart and rejuvenate the filter for use? Apart from cleaning I would like to replace the medium.
Would seachem matrix and purigen be enough?

I'd probably look at all the seals, if they don't look obviously perished you can just rub a little bit of <"silicone based grease"> on them. After a clean it should be OK just to fill up and restart. It isn't a filter I've used so hopefully some-one else can comment if there is any difficulty with priming.

Apart from cleaning I would like to replace the medium.

What filter media does it have in it? You can almost certainly carry on using the media that you already have.

I would make sure all seals are in good condition and are not broken or brittle, use some lube on the seals and fittings, clean it and you should be good to go!
