Hello. I'm slowliy beginning to dabble in fertilization, as I notice some deficiencies on my Amazon frogbit (kudos to Darrel, I don't know how to properly insert your user). This has led me to slowly adjust amounts, etc as I see improvement/algae. My question is the following: Once fertilizing, the downsides are only toxicity and/or algae outbursts, or are there more? I know some micronutrients can interfere with each other's uptake if there's too much of one, but I am only dosing macros at the moment. So, hypothetically, if I am dosing a certain amount, there's no sign of toxicity to livestock and algae is still under check, then I can up the dosing?
Thank you very much. I am sorry I can't provide much details regarding the dosing itself, I have urea (yes, very toxic potentially, I use very little at a time) and a common NPK (3 - 8 - 11, 1% Magnesium, and 20% humic and fulvic acids).
Edit: still missing some data. The aquarium is the one on my signature, a Walstad wannabe that just did not work fert-free. And I'm tired of waiting for it to do so. Small, emphasis on root feeder plants, some emersed, and floating Amazon Frogbit and (presumably) Spirodela Punctata.
