Discussion: High end 'v' affordability

I'd actually be keen to know of any "high end" shops within easy travelling distance of West London/Surrey as all of the LFS I've been to recently have been low to middle! I'd like to see some of the stuff I can't afford up close! 😀

Just come to Switzerland.. A Fluval nano cube with filter/light costs USD 300, Easycarbo is USD 50 for 1 litre bottle..
FE cylinders are "un"available for lay public, and 2 kilo refill is USD 50, bottle itself is USD 100 deposit. Urea, KNO3, and most chemicals arent available (regulations) or you have to buy them lab grade (400 gm KNO3 is USD 70 from drug store & they require all your life history details before selling it). Its still cheaper than fert bottles though!
LFS suckers think guys are dumb. Anubias start at USD 12 per small pot, or if they are tied to a wood piece then its USD 50!! Most reasonably OK canisters start at USD 400+.. Elos 10 litre Terra soil costs USD 120..

There is no shortage of millionares in Swissland, and no dearth of suckers...

In my country the availability is worst than affordability because there isn't a real interest in the aquatic hobby. But I don't mind, I can source most of the things from ebay or countries where this hobby is more developed.

On the other hand I think that the main issue in this industry is the lack of REAL reviews, tests and comparisons. We don't know what we buy and this hurts in the end a lot especially when we spend a lot of $$$ on some rubbish re-branded things built on a ship in the middle of nowhere. I thrown a lot of expensive things lately and I'm really pissed off.

Since Swissland is NOT in EU, everytime I buy something from Ebay, i pay a surcharge that blows away any savings originally intended..

Your right there i love my Growbeams my tank is lit by 4 and the glitter lines that bounce all over the house on a night look ace. And never having to change the bulbs they will pay for there selfs over there life time. Long live the LED lol.
