Cycled tank

When i started my new tank i never did a water change i just kept topping it with new water, in order for the bacteria to multiply. Now that the tank is cycled Do i do a water change before adding fish/shrimp? If so how many percent?

Providing the aquarium is cycled, there should be no problems with performing a water change before you add any inhabitants. However, you start to load your aquarium up slowly - i.e. add a few small fish and not 30 all in one go!

Could you send us a picture and your current readings (Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate) so we can take a look and understand a little more?
