My Syngonanthus cf. inundatus (Manaus) grow well, but they often show this sort of cristate growth.
Is this very common or do I have something special here ?

Syngonanthus macrocaulon doesn't have this strange growth.
All the other plants grow well too.

I'm not worried about it, but I don't think I really like it on this plant.
It's about 50% of the stems that get this mutation over and over again.
When the cristate becomes too explicit / wide, they sometimes stop growing and produce new (normal) shoots lower on the stem.

Hi, I know this Thread is old. Maybe some one is facing this phenomenon too:

It’s a mutation. Got it on a Syngonanthus Macrocaulon too.
Comes and disappears some times. Already the 3rd plant starting with this on me.

The stem exactly looking the same as yours. Flat and broad.

The plants looks from the top as it’s getting polyploid. Mutation that’s quite common in cannabis.
