Cost of plastic tubing?

I've managed to grab myself a couple of 2217's from Gumtree which should be arriving later this week, complete except for hoses. I've therefore been looking around to find the cheapest way to get 4metres of 16/22 and 4metres of 12/16, and with postage it still works out at £24!!! (eBay, £6 postage, £1.85 and £2.75 per metre).

Now am I just being old fashioned and tight fisted, or is this a ridiculous amount of money for a total of 8m of plastic hose?!

Any suggestions on cheaper alternatives (or reality checks for my views) would be much appreciated. Cheers.

How much is it at the LFS? You wouldn't have the postage cost then, or are they crazy expensive?

I'm going to ring around tomorrow and see what it comes in at, but even without the postage that's still a lot per metre in my opinion!
