Hello everyone,

After a 7 years of break, I have returned to this wonderful hobby. To start, I opted for a nano aquarium with a simple setup, aiming to reconnect with my past experiences. Tank is 14 days old. All parameters are great, no visible algae. Fish added yesterday.

Here are some details:
DIY aquarium (Ada mini M dimensions 36x22x26)
DIY shelf
CO2 system
JBL cristal profi e401 (working 50% flow)
Chihiros A2 series lights
Aquasoil substrate
Driftwood pieces glued in place
Stones from a local stream in Bosnia 🇧🇦

Plants:
Monte Carlo
Staurogyne Repens
Rotala Bonsai
Lobelia Cardinalis
Bacopa Monnieri Compact
Moss Mix
Microsorum Mini
Rotala Rotundifolia

Inhabitants:
Dwarf Corydoras
Mosquito Rasbora
Amano Shrimp
Red Sakura Shrimp
Military Helmet Snails

Those stones look great.
Plants look great too.
Some glass or steel pipes would really elevate the whole look.
Thanks. Daily water change and good bacteria adding works great. I bought a lily pipes but they are huge. So i order smaller ones, can't wait to add them 🙂 Here are the pictures

Small update. Everything looks good. Dont have any algae in the tank. Cleaning crew works great 🙂. I am doing 50% water change now every 3 days all parameters of watter are good. I lost 5 rasbora first night, jumping from the tank 🙁 must becouse too strong filter so i reduce the flow to 50%.

Small update after second triming of Rotala that grows overnight. I am using trimmed part for background behind the wood. Everything is good for now, no algae ( snails and shrimps are doing a great job). Monto carlo will be trimmed next week. Cant wait for lily pipe to come.

Nice job! For a small tank like this Salvinia minima is a good floating plant - not too big, looks neat, nice shade of green, grows well, easy to maintain, shrimp like clinging to the undersides of it. The usual advice is that 14 days is too soon to be adding livestock, but I'm glad it's working out for you - might need to maintain that water change vigilance you're doing for a while. Algae will come and so will diatoms so don't be put off or panic when your perfect looking tank starts going sideways on you - that's all part of the evolution to a mature stable state. You might also get some grief from people along the lines of a tank this size (20L) is too small for any type of fish. I'm not sure this is true but having lots of plants and hiding places will help the fish feel at home. The mosquito rasbora are adorable! Unfortunately mine all got eaten by rummy nosed tetras. I think they prefer a more acidic type of pH so you might check what your water supply parameters look like.

Tank looks absolutely fantastic. One little concern, proximity to a radiator. Algae thrives when water gets a bit hot.
Thanks. It will be one nice nano. Radiatoe was my concernt too. Now is on 3, have nore radiators in the room i will probably turn it off if it want crazy 🤪

Thanks. Will find some nice rad flouting plants for sure. Rasboras are great for small tanks, but anything bigger would be a problem. As you see i have a great filter, to strong and huge for this tank so that halps. I was putting bacterias every day and i am doing daily tests. Tank was ready at day 10. I waited few days more to make sure. All parameters are great for now. It is day 19 now and i will keep doing 50% water change every second day until day 30. After that, i think weekly 50% water change will be enough.

Little off topic: do you think that p60 is ok size for more complex aquascape setups? I am planika to buy second tank, p90 and p120 aee to big for my taste and time. I had p120 before and i was doing great setups but didn't have enough time to manage it.

I find a p60 a great versatile mid-sized tank, though ideally get one that's 40cm deep rather than the standard 30cm deep so you can get a bit mroe depth into the scape. It makes all the difference, and then have a bit more room for stocking some lovely fish too.
