Coil Denitrator - guidance need

After buying the parts many years ago never actually got around to building it. Now I have built it and it looks quality.

Any idea what the flow rate should be:-

1) During first 4-6 weeks when it is maturing (I believe nitrite will be given out)
2) After maturing (too low=Hydrogen sulphide)

Hi all,
They are really difficult to use, to get the flow rate just right is almost impossible. Compared to using plants to assimilate your NO3 (rather than it being anaerobially out-gassed as N2 in the coil) is like trying to drink a pint of beer by dipping a sock in it and sucking the sock.

In planted tanks NO3 removal isn't a problem.
