Hi all,

<"You can">, but you need to cap it with something, as its very light. I'm not sure how well it would mix with soil if you want a walstad type tank, and it produces a lot of tannins.

It might be worth adding a little bit to some water and looking for a rise in conductivity, if you get a steep rise your cocopeat was either insufficiently rinsed at source, or has fertilizers added.

cheers Darrel

It's one of those been here, gone now planted tank substrates ... you can make it work (like most things)

I didn't find it worth my efforts 😉
