Best paint colour for the wall behind my planted tanks?

What's the best paint colour for the wall behind my lushly planted tanks? My tanks are black backed right now but will remove this evantually.

I would recommend adding a lightscreen to the back of the tank does wonders with depth!
Alternatively, on the subject of the paint colour of the wall, if it suits you I would recommend a darker wall paint, possibly black, as everything, from fish and plant colours seem to pop, much more contrast!
*from experience from using different backgrounds for the tanks, painted on the back

I use a simple piece of freezer paper taped to the back to create a frosted look to hide the tubes and wires while still allowing the tank to look “of a piece” with the rest of the room. Black looks good per se but I feel like it contrasts too sharply with the rest of my room which has very little black.

Are you going to paint the entire room this color?

Hi all,

3 years back I had to make a decision to wrap up everything and store it in the attic until the right time and place will come again.

Bought a new house and the only place (pointed out by my wife) I was allowed to plan my next aquascape was in the kitchen.

So a little prep was required before, to make a room for it...




So once the obstacle was out of the way, it took no time for me to get into an attack and dust off the inventory.. (finally after 3 years of a wait)..



And so my next aquascaping journey can kick off again...

I’ve done this, although I’d probably never do a clear backed tank again (my peninsula doesn’t count when hold me to statements like these…).

But dark green specifically does create a beautiful additional dimension (while making it harder to read your drop checker).
