Hi everyone!
Again me with my alternathera problem.
So my tank is around 800 liters. (180x55x80)
Filtration sump, 6500l/h pump + co2 reactor with another 2000l/h pump.
Lighting from 14:00-22:00 WRGB 80% intensity.
CO2 Injection, ph drops 1.0 points at least, drop checker green and even a little bit yellowish.
Fertilazer , started with EI from planted-box.com 1 week ago, before was dosing Tropica.
Substrate under althernathers is fine grave + root tabs from Masterline and Tropica.
Long story short, it does not grow, it melts, it gets green algae, I have replaced with a new plant, but still not success.
Please help, i really would like to know what I`m doing wrong and to grow this plant.
Yesterday I pulled out all of them cut and got most healty ones and replanted again. Here are pictures.
Thank you in advance

When did the plant start stunting? How was it growing under tropica?

It would have been far more useful to post the picture of the plants that were not doing well. The pictures above don't tell us much.
Alternathera reineckii is a sensitive plant in the sense it doesn't like to be moved. Other than that it's normally and easy plant albeit a slow growing one. Better to trim it if you want the plant to bush. I would maybe advise to use some active substrate rather than fine gravel.

Hello. Those are plants that exaclty doing not well, i cut and throwed almost dead parts.

Ok, But since you uprooted and replanted them you can expect some adaption period again.
And what is all that osmocote doing around? I would suggest to remove them or at the very least, burry them. They have no business being on the substrate surface.

They came out while replanting, going to remove it.

Osmocote tabs are slow-release fertilizers.
Probably better to use something like Tetra Plant Sticks or API Root Tablets/JBL Root Balls!
This was Masterline root tabs and to be honest, I`m quite unhappy with it. Should I go for Tetra Crypt tabs?

Yes, those are the ones I use!
They break down pretty quickly that's what you want though!
Got a package yesterday, going to put it tomorrow during the water change. Just one question how many do you put and how often do you add a new one?

Hi all again!
So some update on this thread. After adding tetra sticks I had some good growth and when they get a bit high, I have trimmed them. But for now growth again stunned. Please see the attached photos (please ignore osmocote, 2 capsule blowed up yesterday)
I read on 2hraquarist that too much macro can cause this.
Any advise?
