Hi,
I just buy a ''golden creeping jenny'' and I was wondering if I can attache her to the wood at the surface to send her roots down to the botom of the tank or I must use a pot.I want to use it like an emersed plant.Any advice is welcome.
Thank you.

Today I receive the plants, they are small but nice.Unfortunately I am not sure that the soil is chemical free.Is there anything I can do before I put them in my tank to try to clean it from chemicals?Like if I put the pot in clean water for a few days.Any tip?
Thank you.

I don't see why not, it is much better as an emersed plant, to the extent if didn't really like life along the edge of my pond, and is now much happier planted in the lawn. <http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/plants/plant_finder/plant_pages/515.shtml>. The roots will always be quite short, but they are fine getting their nutrient from the tank water.

Just tip the pot out, the Lysimachia plants will only have short roots, wash all the soil from them, and then tie them on to your wood with nylon thread. You will need something like moss (or filter floss) tied over the roots (and going down into the water) to wick up the moisture and ensure the roots on the wood stay damp.

cheers Darrel
