    I'm looking at getting the fluval kit for my 20litre tank, yes I know running cost want be as cheap as other DIY stuff but its on a shelf next to my bed so want it nice n neat as there's no where to hide bottles etc... Has anyone used one or got any other suggestions?

    Could you drill the lid of a bottle and put airline through it, (make a good seal so gas doesn't escape) enough to reach the bottom, then start it siphoning into the tank but control the drip with an airline valve or clamp?
