PH is fine for your crystals as is TDS.KH is high but yours is a planted tank not a shrimp tank.If the GH is 5 or 6 then that would be great.Have to see how they get on with the co2 and ferts.Best of luck!

You would be lucky if a substrate lasts 3/4 years!Most shrimp substrates will stop buffering the water after 1 year or 18 months max.Cheers Mark

I would say first one very spick and span,second one not a real dump but keep the door shut or block it off so the Mrs can't see!;)

You have done a very good job because you can not tell it is made up of different bits and it looks very natural,will look great with moss and plants in and around it.Have fun:)

Obvious could be lots of things,but just looking at your recent posts do you think it something to do with food going down un the substrate and spoiling causing a problem to water quality?Maybe if you change water give the substrate a good clean with a gravel cleaner especially where you drop...

Thanks Iain:-) I have a nano set up with Shirakura red bee sand(should be fairly similar to yours being an active substrate)for almost 3 weeks levels are good but I am going to wait a while longer.My god it's hard to be so patient!Just trying to make sure I can give the micro organisms a chance...

Yeah suppose you need very soft water to breed Choclate Gourami but they do look very healthy and happy in your tank,so you must be doing well.On the rare time i have seen these fish in shops they look in a pretty bad way,probably to hard water,cramped conditions and a almost bare tank does not...

Hi,I feed my Chilli Rasbora freshly hatched brine shrimp every day.Can appreciate it is a bit of a hassle to allways have a brine shrimp hatchery on the go but my fish just go mad for them!It does improve the colour of the Chilli Rasbora too,yes they go even redder due to the brine shrimp:-)...

Very intresting shrimp then Ian!Hard workers and if they breed your quids in:-) The Emperor Tetra is a really good looking fish,in the last couple of years never managed to get hold of any where i live in Italy but have got a small shoal of 9 Blue Emperor Tetra,nice too!Cheers Mark

My kind of tank!Nice mixture of different plants makes it very intresting to look at and to keep.My main tank is a dutch/jungle mix i suppose 12 or so different plant species very free spirit :-) enjoy it!

Sorry it did not work out with the Jellies,not easy in the small tank to keep it stable(know well from my own expierence).Very clean and well defined nano scape :-) Cheers mark

First thing imo is to try and find a better position for the wood before planting.Or even modify the wood a bit if you have to and try and get a more natural look.Cheers Mark

Looks better each time i see it Jack.The stem colouring in some plants very different and more pronounced than when grown submersed and Yes mate you can tell the difference with the new light.Also the HC is making an effort to get up the rock!Cheers mark

Yes mate it was a bit thick,overgrowing,lifting a bit where some hairgrass had grown in it.It was a hell of a job but one good thing was a managed to remove the pieces of potting wool that i planted it with 1st time replanted in small bunches of stem cuttings and it looks much better now.First...

I did this the other month mate in my 450L tank.First lifted and removed the HC carpet,then did my WC during which i cleaned the substrate a bit with a gravel cleaner to remove any roots and other rubbish.Then finished WC and sorted out the HC i had removed then started the 10 hour...

Pleased the heater came looks very smart Jack.Worm feeder usefull thing to control where the food is going in makes it easier to clean up left overs nice one.Cheers mark

1 good thing if you have anything growable(looks like it)it does grow fast and you get cuttings in no time.Be a bit carefull in your tank with it as is capable of getting out of control due to it's growth rate,regular trimming.It's a definate jungle plant!Cheers mark

That is poor mate you have a case for a refund no way is it worth what you paid for 5.50 you should get enough Hygrophila Polysperma to fill a 60L tank!Cheers mark

Think you can safely say ferts and carbonated water should be fine as to LC i do not recall reading anything about these fish having a problem with this and a number of guys on the forum keep them.Maybe someone like Tim (who i think keeps them can confirm)Cheers mark

Ionut do you have your wavemaker sending the flow down the tank in the same direction as the filter outlet?If so how does it affect the longer stems in the tank,do you have to keep them trimmed a bit shorter?Cheers mark

I think you have the right idea daily LC dosing done consistantly at aprox or before lights on can only benefit your plants mate.Let us know on your decision and what is your fert dosing regime?Cheers mark

Hi Nduli have grown staurogyne repens very well in my 20l nano lit with 11w lamp but was dosing daily 0.5ml of LC i think it would suffer without,was also dosing E.I 1.5ml daily.In the tank was also eleocharis asicularis which grow super well and stayed very short 6cm aprox high so more like...

They look good Paolo like what i think is the Anubias nana in the right tank.Cheers mark
