What I've done with this scape is to use an inverse sense of scale. I used Staurogyne as HC, Giant vallis as Lilaeopsis and Bolbitis as Christams moss. So in the final photo it looks exactly like a 60 litre scape thats been growing in for 17 weeks. :D :D

I've just submitted my entry, was a little surprised when I realised its my 5th time. However, this the 1st time i haven't used a 20litre tank, instead I've entered a 12000litre scape that i've been growing in secret for the last 17 years :D

Thanks Viktor :D The bulbs used on the 3 cubes were 7watt LED replacements for the GU10 halogen spotlamps. Because they have a fairly narrow beam it meant they could be placed a good height above the tanks without significant loss of PAR. Cheers, James

There have been some interesting posts made here. I see your point Peter, the top 100 will be judged by a broader panel, however they will still be subject to IAPLC criteria. Those outside of the top 100 will be judged to some extent by what Mr Amano considers to be good composistion by his own...

I totaly agree with this ethos, IMO If we design our aquascapes to please the judge's eye rather than our own, then we have lost the reason we started scaping in the first place. I,ve entered mine now BTW. Good luck to eveyone :D . Cheers, James

What an excellent weekend for Ukaps this was. Myself and Jenny arrived at about 10pm on the friday to deliver the Ukaps tool tidies, and the stand already looked fantastic. The banner that spanned the back of the stand was well "swish" and the scapes the chaps had brought arrived unscathed by...
