Just a quick update, i fitted the new reg today, very well made indeed, i have set it to 2.5 bar and as suggested it has cured the problem of an inconsistant bubble rate with the inline diffusor, i will obviously keep a close eye on it over the next few days, but so far i would have to say...
i have just upgrade my reg to this UP Twin Gauge Adjustable CO2 Regulator - Solenoid - Needle Valve (A-165) so ican raise the pressure to 2..5 bar it
should arrive tomorrow, i will let you know how it goes:)
i'm probably going to go for this one UP Twin Gauge Adjustable CO2 Regulator - Solenoid - Needle Valve (A-165)
What do you think? or
wondering if could be caused by some sort of back pressure? i suppose i could put my old ceramic diffusor back on and see if the problem continues:banghead:
After installing a UP CO2 Inline Diffuser on one of my tanks yesterday i seem to be having a problem controling the co2 via the needle valve, it goes from a steady flow of bubbles in the bubble counter for a few seconds followed by a big burst of bubbles and then back again, the diffusor has...
JBL instructions use to say this too but it's very misleading, tank water will never give you a true reading of your CO2 levels unless you happen to have 4dkh tank water of course, not the first case of manafacturers giving false or misleading instructions when it comes to planted tanks i'm...
Sorry i meant what are you mixing with the bromo blue? i seem to remember JBL instructions tell you to mix it with tank water  if this is the case you will not be getting a true reading, you need to mix it with 4DKH water to see the true CO2 levels.
Have a read of these mate it should make things clearer

I have a JBL one that is very good as well and it's always worth checking ebay
Hi Glank, yes it is quite normal to see tiny bubbles of co2 wizzing aroung your tank
i'm not clear by what you mean by "visual test" are you using a drop checker with 4dkh water or a PH test kit?
i have a tank about the same size witch is running at 1 bpm but no 2 tanks are alike...
I suspect you have a leak, even a 500g bottle should last longer than that
Check all your connections for leaks, if not you may have a faulty regulator.
MMMmmm inline Cal Aqua... nice!
Maybe if we are all good Father Christmas will bring us one, until then my Rhinox 5000 is under the spray bar.
Thanks all
I'm about to add a JBL CO2 system to my tank and was wondering what the current thinking was on diffuser placement, i was going to stick it under the filter intake but is likely to interfear with the anarobic bacteria in the filter medium in any way? i'm now thinking it may be better to put it...
