Im with Andy, The rocks will get lost easily, its nice, dont get me wrong, you could do it very nicely if you used hc on the right hand side and kept it in check, while sweeping the crypts and other bigger plants from the wood side

turn the driftwood on the left 180 degrees, and stand it up a little with the substrate/rocks. other than that, the plan seems good :thumbup:

I think im going with a half open fore, with sand/fine gravel and then close to the "second rock back" as it were 2-3 species of moss for in the rocks too, and then a grassy type plant here and there, and some rotala in the rear. thanks

I agree, it does make it look better, what do you rekon to the scape, I quite like this: I cant believe the poor quality of my pictures :( It looks much better in real life.

scrap that, no mound- i will try a slope.

:D I have started to scape in the box and the 1st thing that i have noticed is that the main stone is soo heavy it flattens all substrate under it, so that may call for a mound :)

Here are some pictures: the size of the towel i have scaped on is roughly the size of the tank and the height of the rocks will come up nicely.

No, im doing it outside at the mo as the tank is already in use and has livestock in so my plan was to come up with what i liked and then take everything out of the tank, put the new decor in, plant up and fill..

please dont take this the wrong way, but if it were me i wouldnt use thouse stones, i feel they lack texture, something like mini landscape rocks from ae or tgm's blue stone adds that extra detail and really makes the scape look professional- just my thoughts Adam

lol. can i ask you something mate... my camera always seems to degrade the images of what its taking, the rocks in real life actually look good the way they are positioned atm, but on camera after putting them on here they loose detail, texture and their true colour, is this down to a poor...

As i have lots of tgm blue stone and a very bored mind i decided to make a sort of iwagumi with a little inspiration from here: http://www.natureaquarist.com/Nature-aq ... 1973626603 I quite like it, a couple of the stones far right are just supporting as i have no substrate(yet) to hold them...

thanks sam, i think there is too much wood in the middle picture for me to try and emulate in my 35litre. my wood is still quite chunky for the tank size, i will try, but i feel it gets too clogged like in my second hardscape try.

tried again, although thinking about it i think there is a little too much wood for a 35litre alone :lol:

I think what i will do is just keep playing with the wood, but not letting them dry out too much, so they wont float, and then on plant day arrange the hardscape in the tank, the wood should be pretty well held down due to the rocks i just dont want to have to re-do everything. think i have got...

all of the pieces of wood are individuals, how many would you recommend using, or doesnt it matter, is less more as long as it looks good?

Hello, i am currently trying out different hardscapes i have some mantanzania driftwood and some tgm blue stone, this is the best i have come out with so far, can anyone give me any tips and rules to follow for wood scapes? is there any? i plan to have the wood branching out from the middle...

Just looked at the top 25, im not just saying this, but saintlys "the henge", "miracle mire" and georges "english summer" are better than half of those, they really dont inspire me at all, whereas the first time i looked at english summer, the henge and miracle mire it just made me want to start...

I will have an 125litre, 80cm x 50cm(high) x 35cm.. and have been thinking about iwagumi lately, but will it look silly in a taller tank, i will raise the substrate like in saintlys 120cm iwagumi, but just want your thoughts really. thanks
