plec is tiny, maybe an inch. Definitely not eating them as mentioned none of the shrimp are berried so it looks like they don't want to breed. There are plenty or hiding places big chunk of moss in a 40 litre tank with wood and anubais. normal gravel, small filter that came with the tank. I...
Has anyone ever had a problem breeding their cherry shrimp? I read everywhere how easy it is and you have to do is leave them to it but I'm having real trouble. The things I read that will stop them breeding are extreme temperature or brand new tanks. The tank has been set up for a few years...
very informative. I have a pair of Apistogramma macmasteri in with green neons (Paracheirodon Simulans) without knowing anything about dither fish have i inadvertently done well?
Another good one is Wholesale Tropicals in Bethnal Green. Favorite place for tropical fish but also has a pretty good plant collection. Went in yesterday and had all sorts i had never seen for sale before
Very interesting read thanks for that! Looks like i need to wait for some flowers then. I will keep an eye out for little bulbs too. The article implies the lillypads are not desirable, i love them.
I have a red tiger lotus in my tank. It is doing really well and has 7 lillypads. Does anyone know how it propagates? I know it grows from a bulb but do you have to dig it up and cut the bulb? Any help would be appreciated
Sorry to hear about your troubles. I'm curious what tank that is? I have a very similar looking one but with big plastic bits on the bottom. I'm wondering if this is the same and you removed the plastic?
the snail would eat them given the opportunity but it is far too slow. The Betta is more likely. How long did you have them together before they started disappearing? Seems odd he has suddenly got a taste for them.
at least it isn't your real name, where I work there is a James Brown and a Will Smith. I'm sure somewhere in the hiring policy it says if you have a celeb name your in.
I do appreciate it and might end up there pretty soon, the more I read the more it seems that bigger lights=bigger problems, I know if it is done well then it works but having only kept 40 litre low tech tanks before this I might have made a mistake with the halide lamp a little beyond my...
Thanks for the links they were very interesting reads although I'm not really sure I could go for them. The first one needed low lights and the second one seemed quite limiting in what you could keep. I might bite the bullet on the FE CO2 I do like the scarlet badis from the second link though...
Thanks for the replies guys I figured this was the case. I suppose the same applies to the DIY Bottles they are just not stable so it would be another algae nightmare. I got given a bottle of easycarbo so I will use that until I can raise the funds for a fire extinguisher set up. Is there...
Hey,
I recently bought a 350l tank on Ebay which was previously used for Marine and has a halide lamp on top, I wanted to keep a planted tank and thought that too much light wouldn't be a problem but from reading around it seems I was a little wide of the mark.
I don't mind paying for ferts or...
