Couple of days of no lights, and a couple of days of only dosing co2 seems to have done the trick for the algae. I’ve just got 4 more amanos (6 in total) so hopefully everything will be sparkling now!

So the blue jellies have vanished, one I saw in the filter compartment today, one died from a parasite :( the two amanos are still going strong though. I also picked up a betta today, made the mistake of “just having a look” in a fish shop and saw this gorgeous guy, I couldn’t resist:

2 weeks after planting, I’m pleased with the growth on A.reineckii and Siamensis. I think they’ve grown pretty well for a low tech! The H.tenellum is starting to bounce back too :)

I’ve had the pump agitating the surface all week and it’s much better, the floating plants make it difficult to remove with kitchen roll. I had to take them all out and wash them last week!

One week in, put the ludwigia palustris in and I’m a lot happier with it, I think the scale is much better. Hopefully in a few weeks I can get some shrimp!

I'm wanting to use tropica aquarium soil in a fluval spec V, I'm not sure whether to get the 1.25kg or 3kg bag. I tried using an online calculator but it said I needed 12kg :facepalm:

Yeah I must admit I quite like the rounded corners! The thing that puts me off the superfish is the massive filter block, I don't want a huge external filter either which is also why the dennerle appeals to me.

It's been running for about 2 years, I don't know how it was cycled it was done before I started. I hadn't realised I could ask the shop to do that!! They seem very happy already, the 2 female cherry barbs we already had are shoaling with them as well!

It's looking like we've got 3 males and 2 females at the moment, just need to figure out how I could store more overnight, the tank is at work, we snuck out at lunch to get them today but it was an hour round trip so don't really want to do it again!

We picked up 5 today, they coloured up pretty much as soon as they were in the tank. I already want to go and get more, they're awesome!
