On my 300l I did run a DIY reactor inline from filter outlet, but don't bother anymore. Just like Zeus I atomise into my external filter inlet (Eheim 700 pro3e), don't have any issue with over gassing in filter.

You will see a flow rate increase by running two pumps in parallel with the same head, although in theory the flow rate should be doubled, in practice it is more like 1.5x. It is also common to use identical pumps.

I have open bags of aqua soil left for years in my workshop from tanks that I have stripped down. I spread the wet soil out on cardboard outside leaving it to dry, bag it up and then re use it sometime in another tank when I re-scape. Never had a problem ;)

These solenoids fail quite often, especially the cheaper type, its normally the electric positioner that fails, so even if the led is lit the magnetic field isn't being generated, and therefore the valve will not open. just bypass (or remove it) it for now until you get a new one. ;)

Nylon stocking is fine I have used it in the past for that exact reason, and to put on filter inlets to stop shrimp fry from being sucked up!

As Ian says! It is not easy to do. But is doable with non return valves and protection systems to stop reverse flow and the pumps fighting each other. I would not bother and just run two independent filters

I use swagelok and hoke micrometer needle valves. They are easy to adjust they have gradients on the handle so that you know how many turns you have operated. They are more expensive than the needle valves found in the aquatic shops but 10x better. And they do come up on eBay now and again...

You could use a couple of glass jars or alike!

You cannot add a pump inline and use them at the same time without either causing cavitation or starvation normally speaking. There are execeptions to this rule but not in home aquaira really.

No problem in running that air pump 24hrs, but you will need to crank the CO2 injection up to allow for the increased surface movement.

I personally don't get a difference in reading when electrical is on or off. But I know flow effects ph reading. So if you take your reading in static water and then in high flow from filter you should get a different reading. Hope this helps.

These guys are good, if you take your CGA 320 bottle and purchase a paintball fill kit from ebay, they can then refill for you!

Some come with a DIN 477 stem and some with a CGA 320. The CGA 320 is for the TMC bottle ( same as paintball bottles) DIN 477 uk standard CO2 bottles (FE pub bottle etc)
