The problem with driftwood as an aquascaping medium is that it generally floats. I tried to use it in a scape and it went horrbly, horribly wrong.

I can echo a good start but I think you need more plants to help you. I would suggest either getting rid of the frogs or changing the water more frequently, they will be polluting a lot and could contribute to your algae problems

With people getting entry numbers in the 2000s i assumed they had cut some. I don't believe I have broken the rules, I did check them before entering, I don't think there was a minimum volume :crazy: I didn't know what Graeme had entered, could have been scubadivers and blue gravel :lol:

This is right in my experience. Bolbitus is tough stuff, snapping is not easy, and if your scissors aren't up to much then the bruising will occur also.

I'm nervous thinking about it! As long as I don't come last I'll be pleased :lol: Good chance of coming last though, entered my Pico :crazy:

I've had the hairgrass from Plantedtanks and the bunches are probably the same amount as a normal pots worth

Perhaps you could name the scape 'Invisible Flora' :shifty: I'm here all week :lol:

In your case with only 1 inch either side, my opinion is it'll only break if you whack it with something :thumbup:

You'll probably find that the more you scrub the stones, the more grey will be revealed. This stone is made up of a lot of orangey clay within the cavities so I'd advise a very thorough clean with a toothbrush, you'll be surprised how even the hard surface is actually clay and comes right off

If you're looking to completely pack out the back with plants then the hardscape is great where it is, otherwise you'd risk losing it is a mass of plants. Go with your gut and try it, you can always rescape
