    Sun light

Hi all, <"Yes and no">, but it doesn't matter what light I use, the <"bottom of my tanks are always"> (and always will be) a <"dark and gloomy place">. I think the fish I keep <"tend to like cover">, so it suits them and <"breaks up line of sight"> etc. The reason I can say "yes" is just...

    Sun light

Well this bit certainly surprised me. You're good with the whole 'photon cannon' approach then?

Cloudy Water Hazy Water and Algae!

Hi, As I mentioned I changed to 14W LED light from superfish but this is not like a Kessil with advanced optically technology, so my 14W is definitely to less light on 90 litres tank. It looks like night light... After photoperiod started i just switched back to 32W LED. This 14W LED it can be...

Cloudy Water Hazy Water and Algae!

...around 45 cm which seems similar to what you have. The Kessil is dimmable and I only ever run it to a max of 70% intensity. If you do a bit of a read on UKAPS too much light is much more likely to be a problem than not enough light and algae loves high intensity light. See also: photon cannon

    Lighting requirements for CO2 tank

...though I don't think that does much for either plants or algae growth. I'm with @John q that you're much better served starting with lower light and increasing than going in with too much light and trying to fix it after it causes all manner of problems (do a forum search for 'photon cannon').

90P High Light (Plants are happy, Algae are happy too)

...have made the bottom of the tank is a very "dark and gloomy place" which may have helped to arrest algae growth while I was away. But as you can tell from my journal title, I'm in the a "photon cannon" camp when it comes to planted tanks, so I prefer my substrate level to be brightly lit as...

Light - how low can you go?

Hi all, Never a <"truer word spoken"> ..........., but we may have a thread for you <"Removing Duckweed (Lemna minuta) - any natural solutions?"> & <"When duckweed takes over">. I must admit personally I don't really care how bright the light I have is. If it is a photon torpedo? I just have...

Light - how low can you go?

Hi all, It was Clive's (@ceg4048 ) description of a <"high light user">. He has a <"way with words">. Although my personal favourite is his description of a canister filter as <"a pump in a bucket">. cheers Darrel

Light - how low can you go?

A long running hobby joke, it means a light of insane output.

    Consistency Deficiency

...floating plants. A 12 hour lighting level is fine for a high tech, you just have to adjust the lighting accordingly - run 12 hours in 'photon cannon' mode, and you'll likely run into issues. I would say you'll be fine gradually going up to 12 hours at your currently lighting levels, just...

ADA Aquasky LEDs Hands on experience

I had a chance to play with these units in the past weeks. I used many other manufacturer's product before, but did not thought I will have new experiences with this. Before I used Aquasky I used TMC units for over 2 years, Vertex Illumilux units, Aqualigher units, some cheapo LED units, SMD...
