I had vouchers so I could try out the Seachem products without them costing me anything, so figured I could try them out, but maybe I should try EI ferts instead...I don't know why but I always had it in my head that they were complex :nailbiting:

I am rescaping my tank, and I need a very thick area of sand. Most of will be around the 2 inch mark, however for the one back area of my tank, in the centre, I need a very thick layer of sand - maybe around 3-3.5 inches. Would that be too thick? I heard play sand could become stagnant etc if...

I have just bought 2 pots of marsilea hirsuta to make a carpet. The pots I have bought, have plants that are around 10cm tall. How do I go about trimming these to make them low enough to start a carpet?

Ok! I have/am growing plants with T8s reasonably successfully, but haven't been dosing anything. Shall I just simply replace the bulbs that I have with some new ones of the same model and the liquid co2 and ferts that I intend to?

Ok, thank you! Do you have a specific bulb from an outlet shop to suggest? As for the whole unit, does that mean I will have to get one that clips onto the sides of the tank and then I have no lid? Could I get some decent T8s for growing plants, or is that not the way to go?

For external filters, do you need to drill holes in the top for all the pipes, or is there another way? I have no idea!!
