Stupid plants

Nominations for stupidest plant award.

Red root floaters.
  1. Find themselves underneath all other floating plants
  2. Like being upside down
  3. Barely break even on the 'floating' specification
Gotta love those reds though...
Couldn't agree more. Much prefer salvinia natas. Floats way better and can handle strong flow

Duckweed ! ... Given how resilient and successful if kept unchecked it is, I am not sure it actually qualifies as stupid ... If you have a lot of other floating plants (such as Frogbit), or plants that grows partially emerged, duckweed is very, very hard to get rid of. For me at least, it definitely takes a price in the nuisance category alongside algae :)

Cheers,
Michael

Imagine trying to get rid of this type of duckweed then.

The examples below aren't aquatic, but surely Darwinian evolution can't explain all of them. Maybe the best evidence there is for a holographic universe, or even a computer simulated reality. Or perhaps nature has a warped sense of humor. Or the perceived weirdness of some can be explained by plain old pareidolia 😁
