Hi guys, gonna rescape my tank once the school holidays are finished and thought I would throw my plant plans out there to see if they would be ok.

tank is around 70 litres.
I have around 2.5w per gal (no idea on par though) 2 x 24w t5 ho
Gonna be using co2 via sodastream.
Gonna be dosing the standard dose of tropica specialised.

So plants are as follows:
Back left corner: Hygro 53B
Back left, just in front of hygro: rotala rotundifolia
Back left in front of the rotala: assortment of crypts
Rest of tank: carpet of Staurogyne Rubescens

Will be 1 piece of stone just off center to the left.

Can anyone see any issues with the plants I am planning on picking?

Hi,

What do you mean by Hygro? If is Hygrophila polisperma, the you should limited it with rocks, is very invasive and very ... pushing!
In my 100 litters tank, this is the central plant and from two to two month I have to cut it down and re-plant because it grows in all directions.
Rotala rotundifolia grows high. It should be placed in the back and in line with other background plants. Mine is 40 cm tall and growing.
Should be adjusted quite often but it can be also easily re-planted.

Hygrophila Siamensis 53B is the plant.
What plants could you reccomend to sit between the crypts abd the hygro?

I had a polisperma in my tank before and yeah like a weed lol

OK, Siamensis is not so tall. My suggestion is to put Limnophila Hippuiroides in the back of Hygrophila.
Look, this is one of the layouts of Tropica I like very much. Maybe you can find an inspiration here. It is made in Dutch style and have a lot of different plant that can give you a solution.

This also give you an ideea regarting the hights of the plants and how the plants cover the substrate.

That is a nice plant, how much differant is it compared to ludwigia arcuata?
I ask because I have that in my tank at the moment.

Very close to that. Is a stem plant, fast growing, easy to replant, tolerating large parameters of water and with low requirements for light and CO2.

had another play with paint.

So yeah carpet of Staurogyne Rubescen, crypts in back left with hygro siamensis 53b then hygro rosanervig behind it.
Was playing with the idea of bacopa compact or normal bacopa planted behind the rock.

You will have to excuse my errrm average paint skills :p

Around the rock you may use Pogostemon helferi or you can try to cover its sides with Hydrocotyle tripartita. There are many other options : Hydrocotyle verticilata, Staurogyne repens or Alternanthera reineckii, why not? But Pogostemon is a splendid plant that in good conditions, grow like a bush but with distinctive individuals. I think this could be a nice solution there.

PS Again, pay attention to rosanervig, should be limited by some stones, otherwise will tend to grow on the sides.

I had rosanervig before and am sure i can keep it under control, it did not seem to grow anywhere near as bad as the normal polysperma.
